Project workflow

Creation

A project may be created manually, from an Accepted quote, or from an Approved, Sent, Partially Paid, or Paid invoice. Source-backed projects inherit CRM links, audit, quote, invoice, scope, system type, recommended option, and a commercial-status snapshot.

An eligible invoice with a confirmed-payment balance creates an Awaiting Payment project and a persistent commercial warning. This warning does not silently block operational preparation; it keeps the commercial decision visible.

Lifecycle

Project managers coordinate Draft, Planning, Awaiting Payment, Awaiting Materials, Scheduled, In Progress, Testing & Commissioning, Handover Pending, On Hold, and Cancelled states. A projects.approve user approves kickoff, confirms testing completion, approves customer handover readiness, and closes a completed handover.

Every mutation writes to the shared activity log. Inventory and procurement remain separate future concerns.
